This was an article in today’s STRATFOR Daily Brief which I have passed along to you. But, I wanted to further highlight it to you as it is a well done synopsis of the conflict over water rights in the world’s longest river, the Nile. Upstream user countries have begun to challenge Egypt historical control over the river and show no signs of backing down. With world terrorism, Russian adventurism in Eastern Europe, Saudi Arabia’s reorganization, the movement of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, Iran’s growing presence in the ME, China’s aggressive economic and diplomatic efforts and North Korean threats, this is another area of potential conflict in an increasing unstable world.
